Most of us drive the same direction daily to our jobs without any thought of taking a different direction. And it just could be that there could be a short cut that we are not aware of.

Recalculating time is second to none if you change your course or detour. The traffic updates will not be used alot by me as I live in the country and there is not much traffic and never any traffic updates.

But, when I go into the city that will be very helpful. I love the idea that I can take the unit with me in my purse when I am shopping in the city. That way I can find the shops that I am looking for when I am walking along with out fear of getting lost in an unfamiliar area. Sometimes, there is not a friendly face to ask for directions.

Also, if you go to tag sales or estate sales that are off the beaten path, you’ll find the Garmin very helpful. Sometimes, there are no street or road signs on country roads.

You’ll be glad to know that if you tour Europe you will be able to get international map updates. That will make your travels so much easier.
